Description
Six green plastic milk tokens. Square with a triangular hole in the centre. "MILK / TOK" in raised lettering on one side, and "AKD / 1 6 6" on the other.
Brief History
Home delivery of milk was common throughout New Zealand until the mid 1990s. Milk tokens were pre-purchased and left in the bottom of empty glass milk bottles at the gate or letterbox, to be exchanged for full bottles by the milkman.
