Description
3740 planar circuit board. Large brown rectangular board on black plastic frame. Grid lay out with alphabetical coordinates running along the edges. Contains a range of components, with eight pin sockets down each of the longer edges.
Brief History
The IBM 3740, introduced in 1973, is a terminal type machine used by one or two operators to input data onto diskette. The IBM diskette used with the integrated family of 3740 products was a new recording medium. The diskette provided wider application possibilities than other contemporary data entry methods such as punched cards or computer tape.
This planar board contains virtually the entire circuitry used in the 3740.
