Brief History
This dot matrix printer was used with a Commodore PET computer purchased in Auckland in 1978 and used in Tauranga, predominantly for business purposes.
A dot-matrix printer is a printer that uses needles striking a colour ribbon (often black or blue) to print text and graphics on paper. The ribbon could be replaced with a new ribbon cartridge or, less expensively, by using a ribbon refill pack, such as the Nova ribbons which accompany this printer.
Tractor-feed printers have two sprocketed wheels on either side of the printer that fit into holes in the paper. As the wheels revolve, the paper is pulled through the printer.
