Covers the firs decade of MOTAT 1964-1975
Tram 248 moved from Matakohe still running on MOTAT tramways 30 years later.
Road Transport pavilion.RNZAF Vampire and Harvard assembled by Air Force personnel.
Shows objects being moved onto site and lifted by crane and moved onto site.
May 1967. Lancaster handed over from the French. Ceremony, log books and speeches. Lancaster siting near Great North Road put MOTAT on the map.
1965. Building from Mechanics Bay for Administration block.
1966 February. Auckland Harbour Board, cargo shed No.4, 65ft length. shows reconstruction on site. (Energiser building) Clearing of lower area by Meola creek.
First live weekend. Stationary engine (rock and roll), Diesel roller, Waitemata County; vintage organ and cars, Locomotives running on 100ft of track, 1924 Whites bus bought over from Rangitoto by Subritzky's. Bus towed vehicle into MOTAT grounds.
1966 Solent flying boat Aranui, grounded in the Meola creek estuary during its journey to MOTAT.
1967 Short Sunderland RNZAF NZ4115 delivered to MOTAT via the Meola creek estuary.
Shows the Sunderland being towed across Meola Road.
Printing press from Kohukohu, Hokianga; Triple expansion engine from the Tirau dairy factory.
Second hand railway sleepers, rail tracks scavenged from all over the country.
Bitumix and and other construction companies donated services for the site and buildings.

1967 December 15 Tram service opened by the Transport minister J.B. Gordon.

VIP's visit; Governor General Porritt; planned visit 30 minutes stayed two hours. Mayor Robinson; John Malcolm and talks about other buildings moved to the site.
