Medal [The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Civilian].
This MBE was awarded to Captain Frederick Patrick Ladd in 1976 for services to Aviation and Tourism.

This style of medal awarded from 1936 onwards.
1. Medal: Silver medal cross with crown on upper point. On the obverse is an image of Britannia surrounded by the words "For GOD AND THE EMPIRE"; on the reverse is George V's Imperial and Royal Cypher "GRJ". Ribbon is a 38mm ribbon of rose-gray, edged with narrow stripes of pearl grey. Pin attached to upper back of ribbon, engraved "STIRLING".
2. Presentation Box: Black leatherette covered rectangular box with hinged lid. Marked on top in gold "M.B.E.", inside: lid is lined in white silk with mark of the "ROYAL MINT" of England, base is lined with white velvet. Small metal mechanism closure.
