Description
Car Bogie from the Wellington-Manawatu private railway. The Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company constructed the railway between Wellington and Longburn (near Palmerston North) over a 30 year period (1881-1908). The company was purchased in 1908 by New Zealand Rail. Metal framing and wheels. Central wooden beam has hub in middle. Four wheels. Spring suspension along frame.
