Description
A New Setting is a survey of second-generation volunteer Makyla Curtis’ letterpress work. As an art exhibition, it displayed framed works of poetry that had been set and printed by Curtis. It profiled her work as a MOTAT volunteer and the traditional techniques the Print Shop keeps alive. A New Setting focused on two sides of her Print Shop work: her hand-set, limited-run prints of contemporary New Zealand poetry, including works by 2017 NZ Poet Laureate Selina Tusitala Marsh; her project to create a contemporary te reo type case.
