Children's Record Guild Vinyl Record.

Part 1: Small, vinyl record with a pink and white label in the centre. There is a small circular cut-out with a thin circle cut-out around this. Printed on the pink foreground is a white illustration of a girl blowing a trumpet with a parade of people in the background, and the border of the label is white with pink dots.

Side 1: On the label printed in black is the text, "Children's Record Guild / OF NEW ZEALAND / SPEED 45 / (7XS. 909) / ZCG.10 / Side 1 / SONG OF THE SEA / RIO GRANDE - Fred Lucas / BILLY BOY - George Harper / DRUNKEN SAILOR - Chorus / HORNPIPE - Orchestra / THE MICHAEL SAMMES SINGERS / With His Orchestra". Etched into the surface of the vinyl is the text, "7X59092".

Side 2: On the label printed in black is the text, "Children's Record Guild / OF NEW ZEALAND / SPEED 45 / (7XS. 910) / ZCG.10 / Side 2 / SONG OF THE SEA / BLOW THE MAN DOWN - Chorus / SHENANDOAH - Mel Todd / A'ROVING - Chorus / HAUL AWAY - Chorus / THE MICHAEL SAMMES SINGERS / With JOHN GREGORY / And His Orchestra". Etched into the surface of the vinyl is the text,"7X5910-2".

Part 2: Small, square white sleeve with an opening on the right hand side. On the spine is black text, "SONG OF THE SEA / ZCG 10".

Side 1: Decorating the sleeve is a large illustration of a sailor holding a steering wheel. He has a blue outfit on and is wearing a black hat and two ribbons in his hair. In the centre of the steering wheel is a logo for the Children's Record Guild. Next to the steering wheel printed in blue is the text, "WITH THE MICHAEL SAMMES SINGERS / AND THE WESTMINSTER CONCERT ORCHESTRA, / CONDUCTED BY JOHN GREGORY". At the top right hand corner is the text, "SONG OF THE SEA", printed in black. A hand-written "X" is drawn on the right hand side. At the top is a small, square, white sticker with "70c / 4640" hand-drawn in black pen.

Side 2: Along the top of the sleeve is the text, "E.P. SPEED 45 ZCG 10 / EP SPEED 45 ZCG 10". On the left hand side is the Children's Record Guild logo and an illustration of a ship's steering wheel. Next to this is a black and white photograph of a sailing ship. Beneath this is the text, "SONG / OF THE SEA / side one: / [...] / side two: / [...] / The Children's Record Guild of New Zealand, / sponsored by World Record Club (N.Z.) Ltd., / Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch / A Fiona Bentley Production for the Children's Record Guild of New Zealand". On the right hand side of the sleeve is a paragraph of text about the recording, "with the Michael Sammes Singers, / and the Westminster Concert Orchestra, / conducted by John Gregory. / [...]".
