Aerial Dead Reckoning Computer. Circular, metal computer encompassing a vertically rectangular piece of plastic which is covered in a green grid. On the front of the computer is a circular metal plate with another, smaller, circular metal plate placed on top. This plate is adjustable and can be spun to reveal the measurements on the dial below. This smaller plate has various measurements around the edges of the dial which are in increments of minutes and hours. In the centre is a small screw holding the pieces together. Engraved onto this dial is the text, "AIR TEMP / CENTIGRADE / PRESS ALT / THOUSANDS FEET / FOR / AIRSPEED COMPUTATIONS. / ON SCALES ABOVE SET FLIGHT LEVEL AIR TEMPERATURE / OPPOSITE FLIGHT LEVEL PRESSURE ALTITUDE. / READ TRUE AIRSPEED ON "MILES" SCALE / OPPOSITE CALIBRATED INDICATED AIRSPEED / ON "MINUTES" SCALE". This text is repeated on the bottom of this dial, flipped.
The larger dial has measurements outlining the inner dial. At the top of the dial is the text, "U.S. ARMY AIR FORCE". At the bottom of the dial is the text, "AERIAL DEAD RECKONING COMPUTER / ORDER NO. 42-18252 TYPE E-6B SPEC. NO. 94-27892".
On the reverse of the computer is a circular metal dial with a clear, plastic centre to allow visibility to the grid underneath. Around the edges of the metal dial are compass measurements, with the text, "DRIFT LEFT VAR. EAST TRUE INDEX VAR. WEST DRIFT RIGHT". At the bottom of the dial is the text, "CRUVER MFG. CO. CHICAGO, ILL. / ASS'Y. D'W'G. NO. 1150". On the both sides of the dial is a thin, vertical strip of metal. On the right side this has an adjustable piece with a circular cut out at the end.
