Description

Course and speed calculator unit stored in wooden box with hinging lid. Clasp on the front. Interior of box has green felt on the mounts. Unit consists of an aluminium disc with compass directions and degree increments around the edge. Attached to the centre is a rotating mechanism consisting of several rulers and a brass concertina mechanism. Pre WW2 according to handwritten label on top. Engraved on the calculator is, "THE ADDISON-LUARD / COARSE & WIND CALCULATOR / 7-INCH AIR TYPE "B" / PAT. No 253758. / H. HUGHES & SON LTD. / LONDON".
