Description
Radio transmitter - World War II Aircraft. The transmitter is a large heavy black metal box. There are 3 glass fronted dial on the main panel - "Antenna Current", "Plate Current" and a square glass window on the right referring to the "Bands". On the right, is a "Tuning" knob with a turning handle. One dial marked "Antenna Loading" appears to be missing. The front panel has several other knobs. The sides have heat-dissipating vents and the whole unit is mounted on 3 anti-vibration mounts arranged in a triangular manner. There is a spare part that consists of 4 rods supported at each end by plates - the metal plate is on top, while the bottom one is asbestos and is cracked into 3 pieces, but still held together by the supporting rods and nuts. In the centre is a cylindrical coiled armature wrapped around a white asbestos cylinder. The other part is round and marked in white from 0 ~ 40 on a black background. It has a toothed gear in the centre.
