Description
Collar box, leather. A thin leather strap, stitched to the back of the lower part of the box, acts as a hinge to keep box and lid together as it passes through a loop sewn to the back of the lid. The collar box fastens by that strap passing through another loop sewn to the front of the lid and secures with a buckle sewn to the box. The d-loop of the buckle is metal covered with leather and the tongue is exposed metal. The lid of the collar box has a horseshoe motif with three embossed "holes" for horseshoe nails on each side. The box is a dark brown leather on the outside and a lighter tan colour inside. A sticker reading "ACC. NO. / 150/78" is stuck to the front of the box.
