Description
This is a mixture of published and unpublished, copied and original annotated research compiled by Doran on the history and development of computing. This is both in an international and national context.
Subject matter in these folders cover totalisators (the work of Henry Hodson); the first female programmer in the United Kingdom and her work in New Zealand with the British Tabulating Machine, computer 1201; Wellington’s Shell House; the Manchester Computer; Alan Turing’s work; the EDVAC (Electronic Discrete Variable Automatic Computer - one of the earliest electronic computer.) There is a loose serial issue a ‘Annals of the history of computing’ (vol. 36 no. 2, 2014).
There is a memory stick in this series which again has copied and original research.
Date range covers period of history researched by Doran with an article from 1945 being republished.
