"The Auto Mechanics program is designed to meet the training needs of the automotive student of today. The purpose of the text and its supplementary materials is to help the automotive instructor present basic principles that are valuable in the instruction of students with various levels of training. The text can be used to train entry-level vocational apprentices to retain and upgrade skills of practicing mechanics, to prepare students for certification under the National Institute for automotive Excellence (NIASE), and to provide the foundation for general and consumer automotive education courses.
