Ericsson GH 198 Mobile Phone.
Part 1: Original cardboard box packaging for Ericsson GH 198 mobile phone. At the front of the box, there is a printed illustration of the mobile phone set against a landscape backdrop of a house and a lake in the distance. “ERICSSON MOBILE PHONE GH 198 / GSM / ERICSSON” is printed in black. The sides of the box are black and the box opens at the top edge. On the bottom edge of the box, “DER GRUME PUNKT / RKT 993 4342 / 28 R1 / Made in Sweden” is printed in white. On the proper right side of the box, two labels have been adhered. The first reads “490119-51-186775-0” and the second “ERICSSON GH198 / Handheld Telephone Package / DPY 101 393 R2A / S/N: A5101G4778 / IMEI NO: 490119-51-186775-0 / Made in Sweden 95W10”. At the back of the box, there is a printed image of a man and a woman talking against the backdrop shown on the front.
Part 2: Black Ericsson GH 198 mobile phone with large rubber antenna attached on a swivel at the proper right side. At the top of the phone, there is a speaker piece above a glass screen with a thing blue border. “GH 198” is printed on the proper right above it. Below the screen, there is an alpha-numeric keypad with the numbers 1-9, including 0. To the side of these, there are function keys indicated with symbols. Along the bottom, there are buttons with “RCL / S / C / M” printed on them. Along the bottom edge of the phone, there is a charging port.
At the back of the phone, in the upper left corner, there is a camera. In the centre of the upper half, there is a plastic clip. Under this, there is a cavity for the battery to be attached to the phone. In this space, there is a white sticker with “ERICSSON / KRP 114 145 R3A Type 1531 / 490119-51-186775-0 / GSM / 0188 / S/N A51010G4778 / Made in Sweden 95W10 / PASSED / S88 [?] 065 Q20” printed in black. Next to the sticker, there is a slot for a SIM card to be inserted, The top panel slides back and then hinges upwards “SIMLOCK / OPEN / AMPHENOL” is engraved on the top and “U.S. PAT / 5 320 552” on the underside. Circuitry can be seen beneath. “100383-1 52-94” is printed along the bottom of the cavity. On the top edge of the battery space, there are two protruding conductor prongs.
Part 3: Black rechargeable battery cell for Ericsson GH198 mobile phone encased in plastic shell. On the back of the battery, “NICKEL CADMIUM / RECHARGABLE BATTERY / Contains polluting material. / May explode if exposed to fire. / Ni-Cd / ERICSSON / Type 3003 6V / Made in Sweden / BKB 193 037 R3B 42702205” is printed. “RFB / 1” has been handwritten in vivid and “ONE” has been scratched. A yellow sticker with “ERICSSON DEC 02/96 / AUTO 0,1,89% / [4] PASS: 95 #5173” printed in black has been adhered. On the top edge, there are two circular conductors.

On the back of the battery, “NICKEL CADMIUM / RECHARGABLE BATTERY / Contains polluting material. / May explode if exposed to fire. / Ni-Cd / ERICSSON / Type 3003 6V / Made in Sweden / BKB 193 037 R3B 50509497” is printed. “RFB / 2” has been handwritten in. A white sticker with “199” handwritten in blue pen has been adhered. On the top edge, there are two circular conductors.

On the top edge, there are two circular conductors.
Part 6: Rectangular black battery charging unit made from plastic. The unit has two cavities set into it with gold metal prongs for a battery to be mounted. Ventilation slits are cut into top and bottom. On the front, “MULTI / ERICSSON” is printed in white. Along the top edge, there is a port for the charging cable to be plugged into. At the back of the device, a sticker with a barcode and “490119-51-186775-0” printed on it in black has been adhered over one which reads “ERICSSON [?] 4221 / S/N 5[?] / BML 1[?]R2A / MADE IN [?]EN”, partially obscuring it.
Part 7: Three-pronged black, New Zealand mains power adaptor with black and white cable and component to plug into Ericsson charging unit. At the front of the charger, there is a sticker with “ERICSSON / BML 163 026 R1A / TYPE 4222-AU / AC/DC ADAPTOR PI-41-130SA / Input: 240V ~ 50Hz / Output:12V 600mA / Approval No. V93285 / Made in China by PANTENE” printed on it in white. At the back, “CAUTION / INDOOR USE ONLY” is embossed.
