Earshots Wireless Earphones.
Part 1: Black plastic wireless earphone. Earphone bud is red and has a speaker set into it. On the outer side of the earphone, there is a red circle. The earphone connects to a shaped back panel by a curved bar. "earshots / DESIGNED & DEVELOPED / IN NEW ZEALAND" is printed on the inner side. On the outer side, there is a small black button.

Part 3: Black plastic hardshell charging case for earphones. The case is rectangular with a wide clip clasp at the front. “earshots” is engraved on the top of the case. The case opens on a hinge and has two inbuilt cradles for the earphones to be placed. Each of the cradles is magnetized and fitted with a small two-pronged charging terminal. “L” and “R” are engraved. On the underside of the lid, “FCC ID: 2A4QB-ESEP020 / This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: / […] / Input: 5V Charging case battery: 3.7V 5.55Wh 1500mAh LiPo / Battery inside of earphone: 3.7V 0.19Wh 50mAh LiPo / Assembled in China. Part 4: Black USB charging cable with USB-C charging component at one end and standard USB component at the other.
Part 5: Original outer cardboard packaging for Earshots. The packaging is designed to fold around the inner box and has open ends. Brief History
Earshots wireless earphones were developed in New Zealand by James Bell-Booth. Their unique innovation is the use of a magnetic fastening system that holds the earphones securely on the ear. They were developed as a solution to the problem of having earphones slip out of place whilst doing physical activities such as sports and exercise. Earshots were the first earphones in the world to use a magnetic fastening system.
The first generation design did not include Bluetooth due to battery life limitations and audio files were preloaded onto the earphones via a wireless connection. This updated second generation of Earshots has Bluetooth connectivity allowing music and phone calls to be accessed via a smart phone or smart watch. The improved battery allows 10 hours of playback on a single charge and the portable charging case can wirelessly recharge the earphones 10 times.
The product was listed as one of Time Magazine's best inventions of 2022, has received a 2022 Australian Good Design Award, 2022 Silver Best Design Award (NZ), and 2020 Gold Best Design Award (NZ).
