Philips LX9000R Home Theatre System.

Part 1: DVD recorder: A grey metal box with a chrome-like silver-coloured front with dials and buttons, with ports and adaptors at the back. There are two screws on either side.

On the proper left of the front of the unit text reads “LX 9000R DVD RECORDER HOME ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM.” An indented silver line runs from left to right across the front and all the buttons fit within this line. The button on the far left has the on off symbol I/O “STANDBY-ON” Beneath this is a lowercase i “i.LINK.” Beside the standby button is a large dial with a label to the upper right “SOURCE” Beside it are four circular buttons along the centre line. Paired with symbols, the first two buttons are labelled “SEARCH” and the next two are “STOP” and “PLAY/PAUSE” Beneath these buttons is a label that reads “RW RESERVE YOUR MEMORIES / MAKE YOUR OWN DVDs” In the centre, is a rectangular section with three inset circular screens. Debossed above the rectangle reads “PHILIPS” and beneath, also debossed, reads “DVD RECORDER.” Further to the right along the middle line are three more buttons. The first two are labelled “OPEN/CLOSE” and “SURR. INSTANT” The third button, labelled “RECORD” is much wider, three times the width as the other buttons. Within the silver line is a light which looks like yellow plastic when not lit. Next to this is another dial, much like the one on the left. This one reads, “VOLUME.” Beneath these buttons and dial, there are three brand-like logos. “RW / DVD-ReWritable" “DVD / VIDEO” and “SHOWVIEW” At the top right is another brand logo “MATCH///LINE.” There is a headphone jack within the central indented silver line with a label “PHONES” and two more logos at the bottom right: “DOLBY/DIGITAL” and “DIGITAL/DTS”. Running along the bottom of the whole front section is a panel, with a label on each end reading “PULL TO OPEN”. When this panel is opened, on the left side, there are five ports. The first is in its own section and reads “DV IN / CAM 2.” In the next section there is a black port, followed by white, yellow and red ports. They read “5-VIDEO VIDEO LEFT AUDIO RIGHT / CAM 2”

At the reverse of the unit: There is a fan unit on the left attached with seven screws. On this fan unit is an array of switches on the right of the fan. There are two columns of switches, the left column switches are white, red, green, purple, purple, blue, grey. The ones in the right column are all black. Beside each pair is text. The full text reads “FRONT / LEFT/ 4 / FRONT / RIGHT / 4 / CENT / 4 / SUB LEFT / 8 / SUB / RIGHT / 8 / SURR / LEFT / 4 / SURR / RIGHT / 4”. There are two silver ports, one on top of the other, beside the fan unit labelled “TV ANTENNA” above each of the ports reads “IN” and “TV OUT.” The ports and text are surrounded by a black lined box. Beside this, there are three sections on top of each with a black line around it. The top is labelled “RADIO” with two black switches labelled “MW” and a silver port labelled “FM”. The section below is labelled “EXT 2” with a large auxiliary port labelled “AUX I/O”. The third, bottom section is labelled “EXT 1” with a large auxiliary port labelled “TO TV I/O” Beneath reads “IMPORTANT SEE LICENSE-. TRADEMARK-. AND / WARNING-NOTICES ON BOTTOM” Moving across to the right there is an electricity warning symbol “CAUTION RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT OPEN / AVIS RISQUE DE CHOC ELECTRIQUEZ, NE PAS OUVRIR” and a hazardous substances symbol (!). “CAUTION VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE LASER RADIATION / WHEN OPEN AVOID DIRECT EXPOSURE TO BEAM” There is another black outline box, with six ports, three are white and are Labelled “L,” with three red ports lined up beneath the white and they are labelled “R”. Above each pair is a label. Together they read “LINE IN 1 / LINE IN 2 / LINE OUT” Outside of the black square, to the right, are two further silver ports, “DIGITAL OUT” and “DIGITAL IN” and a black switch “OPTICAL IN”. In the top right corner is a mains outlet port with a 2-pin figure 8 power cord with a two prongs mains adapter plug. Beneath the mains port is a sticker label with model numbers and barcodes. “Model LX9000R/22S / 320V-50-60Hz 100W / PZI / Model No : LX9000R/22S MADE IN CHINA / Prod No : KT000422013513”

Underneath the unit there are perforation holes for ventilation and four feet mounds. There is also a sticker label which reads “CLASS 1 / LASER PRODUCT / Designed and developed by Phillips, Europe. / Manufactured under license from …..”

Part 2: Cylindrical satellite speaker, silver with perforated mesh front. "PHILIPS" is debossed on the top, and printed again at the bottom of the cylinder. On the reverse are six screws and a silver port in the centre. There is also a label which reads "REAR L." with text beneath "CS 9000R / IMPEDANCE 4 OHM" Underneath, in the base of the speaker, there are two switches, one black and one blue.

Part 3: Cylindrical satellite speaker, silver with perforated mesh front. "PHILIPS" is debossed on the top, and printed again at the bottom of the cylinder. On the reverse are six screws and a silver port in the centre. There is also a label which reads "REAR R." with text beneath "CS 9000R / IMPEDANCE 4 OHM" Underneath, in the base of the speaker, there are two switches, one black and one grey

Part 4: Cylindrical satellite speaker, silver with perforated mesh front. "PHILIPS" is debossed on the top, and printed again at the bottom of the cylinder. On the reverse are six screws and a silver port in the centre. There is also a label which reads "FRONT L." with text beneath "CS 9000R / IMPEDANCE 4 OHM" Underneath, in the base of the speaker, there are two switches, one black and one white

Part 5: Cylindrical satellite speaker, silver with perforated mesh front. "PHILIPS" is debossed on the top, and printed again at the bottom of the cylinder. On the reverse are six screws and a silver port in the centre. There is also a label which reads "FRONT R." with text beneath "CS 9000R / IMPEDANCE 4 OHM" Underneath, in the base of the speaker, there are two switches, one black and one red.

Part 6: The centre speaker is a wide horizontal speaker. The front is perforated mesh with "QQQQQQ2QQPHILIPS" text attached to the mesh. There are five speakers behind the mesh. Above the mesh section is printed “CINEMA CENTER SPEAKER” The base has a dark grey plastic foot. On the reverse there are six screws. In the centre there are two switches, one black the other green, with copper wires protruding from them. Above this is a label that reads “CENTER / CS 9000 / 3101 308 14541 / IMPEDANCE: 4 OHM” and beside it “SERIAL No. / E0405419”

Part 7: Large upstanding speaker with circular base. Speaker sits on a smaller joint to the base, and has a curved rectangular shape. A speaker opening is at the bottom of the speaker shaft. Above this reads “PHILIPS / TS 9000 SUBWOOFER / B OHM” and below it “SERIAL No: / E0404416 / 3103 308 14621”. On the back of the speaker is printed “TWIN / SUBS / INTEGRATED BASS PIPES / PHILIPS” The top section of the speaker has a large circular slot, with multiple ports inside it, into which one of the satellite speakers can be inserted. There is a black button on the front near the top which can be pressed to release an inserted satellite speaker. On the underneath of the speaker are two switches, purple and white, these have copper wires protruding from them, which thread through a small hole in the base.

Part 8: Large upstanding speaker with circular base. Speaker sits on a smaller joint to the base, and has a curved rectangular shape. A speaker opening is at the bottom of the speaker shaft. Above this reads “PHILIPS / TS 9000 SUBWOOFER / B OHM” and below it “SERIAL No: / E0404416 / 3103 308 14621”. On the back of the speaker is printed “TWIN / SUBS / INTEGRATED BASS PIPES / PHILIPS” The top section of the speaker has a large circular slot, with multiple ports inside it, into which one of the satellite speakers can be inserted. There is a black button on the front near the top which can be pressed to release an inserted satellite speaker. On the underneath of the speaker are two switches, purple and white, these have copper wires protruding from them, which thread through a small hole in the base.

Part 9: Standard black 2 pin figure 8 power cable with two-pronged mains adapter.

Part 10: Black plastic base with four small prongs for the satellite speakers to slot into. On the underside reads “SPO500057-00A1 2 FRONT”
