Description
Camera - No.3 Cartridge Kodak. Patent May 5, 1885. Dec.1, 1891. Air-operated shutter. Centre section folds down to allow bellows to extend. Lens Pat. Jan 5, 1897. 'Cartridge' was Kodak's name for spooled roll film in plate camera form. It is an example of design transition.
Brief History
The No 3 Cartridge Kodak is the smallest model of Kodak’s Cartridge cameras, taking a 4.25 x 3.25 image. It was primarily designed to use film cartridges, with varying numbers of exposures, which could be loaded in daylight, however an adaptor was available to enable the use of glass plates in the camera.
