Description
Piano ex Pianola. Apparently this piano used to contain a self-playing mechanism (i.e. it used to be a pianola). It was made by Henry Tolkien of London, probably during the 1830s. This piano was donated by St Stephens school in return for a piano that their students could use. It is a vertical stringing piano, bi-stringing in treble with 7 octaves. Piano is made of wood. Two panels on the piano are decorated with a cut-out floral pattern. Legs are elaborately carved and stained dark.
