Description

Navigational computer, double-sided, bakelite container with adjustable settings on both flat surfaces. Side 1 has a Perspex porthole with graph paper on a roller passing up and down under the Perspex. Around the perimeter, are 360° degree markings. There is drift correction markings up to 45° - both, port and starboard. A black button on the side of the container moves the graph paper past the screen. On the other side of the computer, is a movable dial with calibrations for True Altitude, Minutes Corrections, Air Temperature, Air Speed and Indicated Height. Underneath, on the plate, it reads: I.C.A.N. calibration.
Used by navigators for calculating compass courses, ground speeds and ETA (Estimate Time of Arrival).
