Description
-1 Calculator - Course and Speed MK II.A. A rectangular instrument, possibly made of bakelite. A series of discs with calibrations on each disc. These include a 360 degree compass setting. Air speed in MPH and air speed knots. On the reverse side is a black course and speed calculator. There is a brown pencil which sleeved into a hole at the top of the instrument. The pencil has a silver metal top.
-2 A second or replacement plastic arm for the instrument. The arm fitted to the calculator is 240 mm H. This arm is 255 mm H. This fits into the side of the wooden box.
-3 Wooden box with wooden blocks, felt, foam fitted in the inside to house and protect the instrument. The box has a leather handle off the edge and also 2 metal loop clasps for securing the lid. Written on the side of the box is: Stores Ref. No.6B/125 Course and Speed Calculator Mk.IIA H. Hughes & Son Ltd. The box has been varnished. Scratched into the lid of the box is: S/Ldr Galbraith
