Description
Transmitter, Marconi T1154. Wireless for operation by a Wireless Operator. A black metal box with 6 coloured "click stop" switches - 2 yellow, 2 red and 2 blue switches. In addition, there are 2 dials down the bottom right corner of the front panel. On dial are numbers from 1 to 17. The second dial numbering from 18 to 24. These dials have yellow indicator switches. In the centre, right side is a dial which numbers from 1 to 9. This has a red indicator switch. Above this, is another dial which numbers from 1 to 9. This has a blue indicator switch. On the bottom, right hand side of the front panel is a black switch. There is a colour coding plate with blue, red and yellow markings. The blue range is 100 to 55 MC/S. The red range is 55 MC/S to 30 MC/S. The yellow is 500 to 200 KC/S.
In the centre of the panel is a white information plate which is fixed to the unit by 6 screws. On this plate are the 24 letters of the alphabet. The letters are divided into blue, red and yellow groups. The letters have a series of numbers allocated to them.
At the top of the panel, are 2 white dials under glass windows. The left dial is headed "Mag. Feed" and the right dial is headed AE AMPS. The left dial has a reference number 10A/12140. The right dial has the reference number 10A/12162. On the right side end of the box are 3 round holes and one square hole. The top round hole has the word "EARTH" printed in white. The middle round hole has HF AERIAL. The bottom hole has MF AERIAL.
