Description
This small car, called the "Snow Kitten", was the first New Zealand assembled car to be used in Antarctica. Details of modifications are given in the inscription field. It was sent to Scott Base for test and evaluation in 1963 and returned to New Zealand after 18 months service. The image shows a Fiat parked outside a dilapidated building. On the driver's door is: New Zealand Antarctic Research Programme. Under this is a kiwi logo then the words Scott Base.
