Description
Metal ashtray (possibly steel). Circular metal with 3 grooved horizontal lines running around the outside. The edge is higher at 2 opposite points and from these higher area extends 2 narrow pieces leading to 2 half cylindrical areas. The body of the object has multiple hollow compartments all painted blue - 3 down the centre, 2 on either side and 4 smaller ones where the high edges extend into the middle.
An ashtray made from the piston from a Bristol Hercules engine used on the Solent Flying Boat.
