Description
Group of children in costume between the cottages of the Victorian Village, with the ASB Pavilion in the background. In the left foreground is a woman dress in a long skirt and long sleeved white top with a handbag over her right shoulder and a plastic bag and papers in her left hand. She is facing right with her head turned to look back towards the Pavilion. To her left is a girl walking to the right. She is dressed in a long blue skirt, white apron, white shawl and is holding a white square in her left hand. To her left is a wheel barrow loaded with wood. Two boys are pushing the wheel barrow. Both have their hands on the handles. The one in front is dressed in sneakers, blue shorts, and a t-shirt with red suspenders. The boy behind him is dressed in white sneakers, light blue longs and a darker blue t-shirt. The wheel barrow is passing a girl dressed in a white lacy dress with pink stockings and pink scarf with a white hat and boots. She is looking to the left. Beside her is a man and two boys. The man is dressed in blue jeans and jacket with white sneakers and he is holding a white square in his hands about chest height. One of the boys is looking up at the man. The other is looking to the left. Behind this group is a notice saying "Do not drink this water" and some kind of iron pipe, perhaps a pump. To the right of the group is an other girl. She is wearing dark shoes, long white socks, a blue patterned dress, a white apron and a white hat. Her hands are raised to and tucked under her chin. She is facing left. Behind her, at the entrance to one of the cottages is a woman pointing towards the viewer. She is wearing a long blue skirt and long sleeved white blouse and carrying a red, white and black plastic bag in her right hand. Next to her are a line of three children coming out of the cottage. The front child (in blue longs and a dark blue top) is looking to the left and may be looking at the women. Vegetation and the side of the cottage are in the right foreground. Part of a second cottage can be seen in the left background.
