Description
A SARO bus. Converted into a house bus. Bedford SB conversion. This bus is one of 12 prototypes built by Saunders Roe. It was shipped to New Zealand from England, and was used as the model for building further buses in New Zealand. Usd by Auckland Transport Board which converted to Auckland Regional Authority. Used by the ARA until 1977. One of the appealing factors of this bus is its light weight which enabled the bus to run over Auckland's Grafton Bridge for bus runs to the Auckland Hospital. Light teal blue colour with white roof and rust coloured window frames. Bus is only a shell - cleared of past internal structure excluding the drivers seat - full of various parts
