A gold plated bronze brooch or badge. Inscribed in the top bar: 'Jean Batten'. This bar floats on the tips of two outspread wings. In the centre of the wings is an oval with: 'L I A' in the centre. LIA believed to stand for League of International Aviators (Ligue International des Aviateurs)
