Description
Navy blue woven wool double layer greatcoat. Double-breasted, eight plastic buttons. Two patch pockets to the front, raglan sleeves, buttoned straps to cuffs. Self fabric belt, overlocked edges with rectangular chrome metal buckle.
Brief History
This type of coat was known as a "lammie" and was worn by New Zealand Railways' shunters (responsible for marshalling the trains). It was issued to staff working at night, for example, shunters and locomotive drivers.
