Description
Set of technical drawing instruments in a vinyl case. Some instruments are not original to the set and therefore not all fit in the associated grooves of the case.
Part 1: The case is rectangular, black with a textured surface. The case folds out vertically, held with with two circular clasps, each with the text, "KEUFFEL & ESSEP CO.". On the bottom right hand corner is "K+E" embossed. Embossed on the rear is the text, "GERMANY". On the interior of the lid is "K+E / KEUFFEL & ESSER CO" embossed in gold. "ORIGINAL / PRYMO" is etched onto the clasps. The interior is lined with blue felt and has an arrangement of grooves for various instruments to be placed.
Part 2: Compass. Long horizontal piece with a sharp adjustable point on one end and a lead point on the other.
Part 3: Long metal rod, one end is slightly thinner and has a split down the centre.
Part 4: Long compass with a small knob at the top and a point on each end. "Kern / SWISS" is etched on one side with various measurements and, "CIRCLES / LINES". On the rear is the text, "Hartchrom / Switzerland".
Part 5: Compass with a large circular piece and knob at one end and a protruding piece rimmed with small teeth. Etched into the surface is, "K+E CO / GERMANY".
Part 6: Thin compass with a knob at one end and a point at the other. Etched into the surface is, "K+E CO / GERMANY".
Part 7: Small compass with one curved leg. The curved leg holds a piece of lead for drawing, the other leg is pointed. Etched into the surface is, "K+E CO / GERMANY" and "GERMANY".
Part 8: Very small compass with a protruding knob on the side. There are two points at one end and a knob at the other. "DIETZGEN / GERMANY" is etched onto the knob.
Part 9: Tiny compass with a small knob on one side.
Part 10: Tiny compass with a small knob on one side.
Part 11: Cylindrical tube with a screw-on lid containing 5 compass needles of various sizes.
Part 12: Cylindrical tube with a screw-on lid containing 22 compass parts such as knobs, screws and lead.
Part 13: Compass with a long black handle. Etched onto the knob is the text, "KERN / SWISS".
Part 14: Compass with a black handle.
Part 15: Long metal rod with a point at one end and a curved handle at the other.
Part 16: Small compass. The cog held in the centre has "Kern / SWISS" etched into the surface.
Part 17: Small chisel with grooved handle.
Part 18: Detachable compass needle.
