Description
Electric projection microscope, Model 5873, designed for microscopic examination and photography of opaque objects, translucent objects and macro or low power examination of opaque or translucent specimens. The microscope is integrated with a wooden table as designed by Vickers-Armstrongs Ltd and manufactured by Cooke, Troughton and Simms Ltd. Used for undergraduate and post graduate teaching in the 1950s and 1960s by the University of Auckland School of Engineering to study the crystalline structures of metals and to teach students to prepare, view and analyze their own specimens. Includes universal illuminator, AC Pointolite lamp, micro-hardness tester, manuals and other accessories.
