Description
The last tram to Avondale (No. 171) occurred on 13 January 1956 (‘Black Friday’). Tram No. 171 is pictured at the Avondale terminus in Rosebank Road by Great North Road, surrounded by the crowd who stayed until after midnight to say farewell. Included in the crowd is veteran Motat member Don Larsen at right.
