Description
Wilsons Portland Cement platform wagon. Used to take the bags of cement to the wharf to be loaded on to ships. Wooden flatbed platform. Two sets of bogies, metal painted green with holes and spiral pattern in wheels.
Brief History
These wagons were made to transport cement from the Portland Cement Works to the wharf for shipping and were towed behind 0-4-0 WT well tank steam locomotive 'Bertha' when it was with the works up until 1957. The couplings on the wagons are identical to the couplings on Bertha.
