Description
Probably a Passenger Transport Company bus. From the back of the bus looking towards the back of the driver's seat. On the roof above the driver's seat is the number 22. On the opposite side of the roof is the number 22. Between the two numbers are three things. To the left is a sign saying: Children occupying seats whilst adults are standing must pay full fare. In the middle is a gap through which part of the destination sign can be seen. To the right, above the driver's seat, is a mirror in which part of a seat can be seen. On the left are five rows of seats, on the right are six rows of seats. There are two split windows on either side with a metal handles to open them. The windscreen is also split with a piece of metal down the middle. The luggage rack is a set of thin pieces of wood or metal attached to angled brackets. There are two poles attached to the ceiling. On either side of the poles are oval lights in metal surrounds set on the ceiling with two lights on the left and three lights on the right. One of a set of four photographs showing the seating from the back (this record), from the front (02/080/034), the driver's seat (02/080/031) and steering wheel (02/080/030). This image sows that this is bus no. 22. There are three possibilities for no. 22: a 1927 Stewart 19, a 1939 Leyland Cheetah RLZ05 or a 1966 Bedford SB3.
