Rectangular metal unit, painted black, rounded case at back, mechanical controls at back right, attached to electrical control board which operates the flap display board - has 3 switched and a dial, electrical cable and plug attached to board. Loose switch dial with object. Front face shows "flap" display. Airlines featured in flap display are: "AIR NEW / ZEALAND / NZ"; "eagle airways / EX"; "ASSOCIATED / AIR / AA"; "WAIRARAPA / AIRLINES / WA"; "Newmans / Air / ZQ"; "MOUNT COOK / AIRLINE / NM".
