Description
Wild Heerbrugg Mirror Stereoscope.

Green metal stereoscope which stands on four metal legs which are attached to the body of the stereoscope on a pivot which enables them to fold inwards so that the object lays flat. When out, the legs are angled outwards from the body to create a trapezoidal shape. On each side, at the top between the legs, there is a flat mirror which is secured behind a green double-hinged metal panel which is attached to the object on hinges. At the top of the mirror, there is a small metal piece with a hole in it which secures the metal guard closed. The body of the stereoscope is suspended between the two sets of legs. At the top of the body, angled towards the front of the object, there are two eyepieces with a glass lens set into a black metal collar which can be used to focus the device. The eyepieces are set into a track which enables them to be adjusted linearly and is attached to the body on a hinge. Each of the eyepieces is located above an angled mirror which is positioned to face the mirrored panel between the legs on its corresponding side. Attached to the front of the casing which holds these mirrors, there is a metal knob which controls a circular glass lens enabling it to be raised and lowered between the two mirrors. A silver sticker with an image of a winged camera above a map of New Zealand and “N.Z. AERIAL MAPPING LTD.” Printed on it in black has been attached to the top. At the back of the stereoscope, a plate with “WILD / HEERBRUGG / SWITZERLAND / NO 3374” engraved on it has been screwed.
