Description

Flight Helmet [New Zealand Police Air Support Unit].

Flight Helmet worn by the NZ Police Air Support Unit. The helmet is white with a hard shell. There is a thick black visor cover attached to the helmet, shielding the black opaque visor underneath. The shield and visor is fixed to either side of the helmet with a mechanism that allows the visor to be lifted and lowered by using a lever on the proper right of the helmet. The metal fixture on the proper left has “MP2 / H1” engraved, the right fixture’s engraving reads “M83 / MSL”. At the rear of the helmet, “O” has been printed in large black print above a square of adhered Velcro.

A flexible padded chinstrap extends from the proper right of the object there is a rectangular metal clasp to adjust the chinstrap which is attached through a similar clasp on the opposing side and secured with Velcro. On the proper left, a mouthpiece has been attached to the object on an adjustable metal fixture. “978-1550 / ELECTRO-VOICE” is printed in white on the mouthpiece “TALK” is embossed next to the print. A single pronged electric cord runs out form the rear of the helmet. “NEXUS / U-174/U/ M9177/2-1” is embossed.

The interior of the helmet is lined with black polystyrene and black fabric. There is extra padding around the crown of the helmet and at the rear. Headphones are secured inside by fabric straps and are adjustable from the exterior of the helmet through clasps; green and white speakers are set into these and have been printed with the words “HOSIDEN / BESSON / R3 AWZ 1200”. “KP / 736755 / 376755” has been handwritten in white ink pen on the interior.
