Description

Samsung Galaxy GT-19300 Mobile Phone.

Part 1: Black, touchscreen Samsung mobile phone. The front of the phone is made up of a screen, which occupies most of the space, and a single button underneath it. “SAMSUNG” is printed at the top of the screen next to two small black circles and a small front facing camera. A headphone jack can be found at the top of the phone. At the bottom of the phone is a charging port. Along the left side of the device is a volume control button, and on the right is a power button.

On the back of the phone, a flashlight, camera, and speaker are set into the top of the device. Under these, there is a cavity for a battery to be place. Inside the space where the battery would be placed, there is a white sticker with “SAMSUNG / MOBILE PHONE / MODEL:GT-I9300 / N363 / FCC ID: A3LGT19300A / SSN: -19300GSMH / RATED: 3.8V=; 2100mA / Z1284 / MADE IN VIETNAM BY SAMSUNG / 0168 / IMEI: 353412/06/105818/6 / S/N RF1F41WXZED” printed in black. Under this, there is a port for a SIM card which has “SIM Card” printed on it in white and “SIM” engraved next to it. Another port is next to this and has “microSD” engraved near its opening, “C43E” is printed in black. “W1 / M” is engraved at the bottom of the device.

Part 2: Removable back panel for Samsung Galaxy G-19300 mobile phone with “SAMSUNG” embossed onto it in silver. Holes are cut into the top to accommodate the camera, sound, and torch features of the phone. On the reverse of the panel, “GT19300 V2 / >PC<#56-2” has been engraved.

Part 3: Silver and black battery for a Samsung Galaxy G-I9300. The front of the battery has “SAMSUNG / Please refer to manual before using battery. / [text repeated in foreign languages] / EB4-L1G6LLU / 2100mAh / S/N: AA1F411TS/2-B / [foreign text]: 2014.04.11”. On the back of the battery “SAMSUNG / Near Field Communication / CELL MADE IN CHINA, ASSEMBLED IN VIETNAM / [text repeated in foreign languages] / [foreign text]: GB/T18287-2000 [foreign text]: 3.7V / 3.7 V Li-ion BATTERY / / [text repeated in foreign languages] / [symbols and icons]” is printed in white.

Part 4: Purple wallet case for Samsung Galaxy G-I9300. The exterior of the case is made from a flexible yet sturdy textile. “MERCURY” is engraved bottom right corner of the front of the case which opens like a book and is secured closed by a magnet set into the top of the case and another that is attached to a strap on the bottom of the case. On the left corner of the inner cover, "[logo]MERCURY / Design your mind / Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder / Open your mind and design yourselves” has been engraved. The inner side of the case has two horizontal slits in it that act as card holders. A vertical pocket runs along the spine of the interior. Inside the case, a plastic case designed to fit the Samsung Galaxy G-19300 has been attached.

Part 5: Black earphones for Samsung Galaxy G-I9300. “L / SAMSUNG” has been engraved on the left earpiece and “R / SAMSUNG” has been engraved on the right. The two earphones connect at a central station where "[phone symbol] / SAMSUNG" has been engraved. At the end, there is a metal earphone jack with “BEAD 1.8K” embossed on it.

Brief History

Samsung, launched its first Galaxy smartphone in 2009, becoming one of Apple’s largest rivals in the smartphone market. In the mid-2010s Samsung jumped on the trend of including multiple cameras in its phones, distinguishing itself, for a time, from its competitors. This Samsung Galaxy GT-19300 mobile phone was bought by the donor in June 2014. It features a nearly full touchscreen, with just one ‘home key’ button, however it still has just the one rear camera lens.
